Chiodos is now premiering “Modern Wolf Hair” at Chiodos.net. The new song off of their upcoming release, Illuminaudio, was written while the band was tracking in New Jersey.

The song holds extra meaning for the entire band, as the bridge of the song was written with the long-distance assistance of Christopher “Notes” Olsen in California, who passed away in May 2010 and unfortunately was never able to hear the finished song. Bolmer states, “I am thankful to have Notes on this record, and this song is very special to us. This bridge is also the intro we used for our first shows with the new line-up, as well as for the first two tours we did together.”

Also streaming on Chiodos.net is the recently released song, “Those Who Slay Together, Stay Together”. Illuminaudio will be released on October 5th and is now available for pre-order on MerchNow.com.

Chiodos will head out on the “Congregation of the Damned” tour this fall with Atreyu, blessthefall, Architects (UK), and Endless Hallway. On September 18th, Chiodos will head down to Forth Worth, TX to headline Firefest. We Came As Romans, Of Mice & Men, In Fear And Faith, Greeley Estates, Confide, A Bullet For A Pretty Boy, Four Letter Lie, and more will also be performing at the festival.  All upcoming tour dates can be seen below.

The Summer Set, starting October 19th, are going to be embarking on their 4th tour of 2010. This tour with be The Summer Set’s first headlining, being joined by the likes of Stereo Skyline, fellow Arizonian Austin Gibbs, School Boy Humor and Mod Sun, the tour will start in Austin, TX at Emo’s. The annual Fuck Yeah Fest (aka FYF Fest) is scheduled to once again detonate in Los Angeles this September 4^th with another stellar lineup of cutting edge modern music. Joining in the festivities this year will be two of Anti Records very finest acts, the haunting expressionistic rock and roll of Dead Man’s Bones and the raucously eclectic vaudevillian outfit hailing from Philadelphia, Man Man.

Dead Man’s Bones is the appropriately haunting moniker for the captivating musical duo of Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields. Their shared fascination with ghosts, monsters and zombies merged with a love for artists such as The Shangri-Las, The Shags, The Cure, Sam Cooke, The Misfits, James Brown, Joy Division has given birth to a haunting and beautiful sound as exemplified on their recent album self titled album. Recent performances have resembled an atmospheric vaudeville revival featuring a full children’s chorus, strange marionettes and a gaunt magician. A snippet from a recent live review at Examiner.com, “The music reminded me of the wild west had it been portrayed in a sadistic romance novel… The vocals were chilling and just when I thought the show couldn’t possibly intrigue me more, up from below climbed a local children’s choir that sang backing vocals for each song… In essence this particular concert was the very thing I needed.”

Hailing straight from the club district of Toronto ON, Abandon All Ships has been quickly winning fans over with a unique mix of hardcore, euro and dance. The band spent 2009 heavily touring North America on the release of its self titled/self released debut EP. With a new record on deck this fall, and a tour schedule that won’t let up, 2010 is looking like a big year for Abandon All Ships. Chiodos will head out on a full U.S. and Canada tour, alongside Atreyu, blessthefall, Architects (UK), and Endless Hallway, on the Congregation Of The Damned tour.  Chiodos’ upcoming release, Illuminaudio, will be available on October 5^th and will feature the band’s two newest members, vocalist Brandon Bolmer (formerly of Yesterday’s Rising) and drummer Tanner Wayne (formerly of Underminded and Scary Kids Scaring Kids).

Fans can expect the same high-energy, high-flying show that Chiodos has become known for.  Wayne states, “I believe that if I have only a 30 minute set that I should show the kids the time of their life. I like playing very aggressively and I’m constantly pushing myself to do more creative things whether it’s during the writing process or live.”

He adds, “I like to play very hard and perform the very best every single night. This is what I love to do, and I’m very blessed to be able to do it, especially with a band I’ve looked up to for years.”

Celebrated composer and multi instrumentalist Yann Tiersen has just signed to Anti-Records. Tiersen is a renowned and startlingly unique artist whose early albums merged cutting edge classical with flourishes of folk with the bristly energy of post punk. And while these works attracted a dedicated fan base, it was his soundtrack to the beloved indie film “Amelie” which introduced Tiersen to a far wider audience.

Since then Tiersen has continued to attract fans with a continuously evolving sound and memorable live performances at everything from distinguished concert halls to rock festivals including a recent appearance at this years Coachella Music and Arts Festival in California. A collaboration between Tiersen and hip-hop artist Sage Francis “The Best Of Times” proved a breakout track, with several prominent English DJs debuting the song to an overwhelmingly audience response.

Tiersen’s new album Dustlane is the result of an intensive two year creative process in which Tiersen not only composed the songs but played every instrument besides drums. It began with acoustic guitars, mandolin, banjo, bouzouki and toy drums followed by the addition of electric guitars and bass and finally the incorporation of the vintage analogue synthesizers of Tiersen’s post punk youth.

“I was a teenager during the late eighties and early nineties and was a huge fan of the analog synth,” Tiersen explains. “I have several synths that love so much at home and so I started to spend my days in front of the beautiful knobs of my Prophet 5 and my Moog and oh!! miracle, it suddenly seemed so natural to add their texture to Dustlane. I really love the space they bring to the album.”

The album’s vocals are a combination of atmospheric choruses as well as Matt Elliot (who has worked with Mogwai, Blonde Redhead, Thurston Moore, The Pastels) providing dramatic narration on several tracks including “Chapter 19″ which excerpts the writer Henry Miller. “Henry Miller is perhaps my favorite writer,” Tiersen explains. “He changed my perception of life during my youth as much as the punk and post punk bands did. And with his low deep voice and Bristol accent Matt did an absolutely perfect job. ”

The end result is a sonically expansive and emotionally powerful album that, like Tiersen’s renowned career,  defies easy categorization. As Anti-Records president Andy Kaulkin explains, “We are genuinely excited to be working with an artist of Yann Tiersen’s immense talents. He is an incredibly innovative artist who breaks down boundaries and can’t be put in a box and we hope to do a wide variety of projects with him. ”
