City and Colour to replace Neil Young at Ottawa Folk Festival

Ottawa Folk fest has announced that they have been able to book City and Colour to close opening night on September 4th after Neil Young had to pull out earlier this week due to a hand injury to his guitar player Frank “Poncho” Sampedro.

“It’s definitely been a challenging week, but I’d say I’m very pleased that Dallas Green could accommodate us on such short notice.” says festival executive/programming director Mark Monahan according the Folk fests official web page

After Alexisonfire broke up, Dallas Green under the name City and Colour has carved out quite the solo career with three platinum selling albums along with three Junos.

Single day passes for September 4th go on sale August 24, and as a gesture of “thanks” anyone who purchased a three-day passport, five-day passport, youth wristband, or ‘Folk Clubhouse’ passport prior to August 20th will get at $25 credit towards the same pass at next year’s festival.
