Swedish behemoth In Flames released the following information on Tuesday:
The title of the new and upcoming IN FLAMES album is: “Sounds Of A Playground Fading”
One day earlier, it was announced that the album was complete and being mixed:
Album is done boys and girls. Mixing is taking place right now and we are very happy with the result/IF
The album will be their tenth in the last 20 years and the only without founder (and rhythm guitarist) Jesper Strömblad, who left the band early last year for personal health reasons. He is not being replaced for recording sessions. Sounds Of A Playground Fading will be released before the summer, but an exact date has yet to be determined.
In Flames has been an extraordinary influence on the melodic death subgenre of metal (and indirectly, many metalcore bands). They’re distinctive, experienced, and a very fun, charismatic group. Recently, longtime bassist Peter Iwers teamed up with Ibanez to create a 5-string signature electric bass. Check out the instrument here; it’s a beaut!
