Terra Terra Terra – Album Review
Let’s play a little game.
Open up a new tab on your internet, and head over to your friendly neighborhood Google. Now, type in ‘terra’. Pretty boring, eh? Try ‘terra terra’. Getting there, but still kind of…well, bland. Now, try ‘Terra Terra Terra’. See the light at the end of the internet? That’s because you’ve just found yourself the best thing to come out of Orlando since Gatorland.
Boasting an imperial-style arsenal of feel good, positively uplifting, intelligently written tracks, Terra Terra Terra ’s sophomore release entitled Mind Like a Man, Soul Like a Child is sure to catch the attention of listeners all over. Their creative and sporadic mix of dance-y synth pop and melodic vocals give birth to a completely new spin on the traditional power ballad that has long since been overplayed by every other band since the dawn of time.
Their single “Transmission Lost”, is depicted by lead singer and guitarist Loren Taylor as “…a song about teenage plight and wanting to get out and grow up. I was dating a girl at the time who was very sheltered by her parents, and I lived a completely different lifestyle. I started realizing that the things her family taught her held her back from actually enjoying life.”
From it’s Muse-like beginnings with “Paradigm”, to it’s harmonious, spiritual, and hauntingly soothing ending with “The Coast is Clear”, Terra Terra Terra bring to the musical world a sense of a higher meaning in life, a sense of importance and a blooming love for our existence, without preaching a religion. Taylor explains, “There’s a positive message behind everything we sing. We don’t call ourselves a Christian band, but we all love God and try to live that lifestyle to the best of our abilities.”
With their inoffensive and catchy pop-meets-rock-meets-dance-meets-ambiance style, Terra Terra Terra is letting people know that they’re here to stay. Catch the video for their single “Transmission Lost” here.
