The Killers plan on making more of an impact in America by knocking bands like Led Zeppelin and Nirvana off their “pedestals” .

The Killers, who have gone 11x platinum in the UK, have watched the sales of their last 2 albums plummet in the states since the release of their 4x platinum, ‘Hot Fuss’.

Brandon Flowers spoke to NME.com recently and said, “We’ve been embraced in Britain in a way that I’ll never understand, and it’s such a wonderful thing. But over here [in America], people are still so obsessed with Led Zeppelin and Nirvana, those sorts of bands, that nobody else is allowed [to grow].’

“I just want to knock them all off [their pedestals]! And people don’t like that attitude. It’s almost like they don’t believe that it’s possible that anybody else can be the real deal.”

Despite only going gold on their 2008 release ‘Day & Age’, Brandon Flowers still feels like he’s chipping away at the American public by continuing to offer “great songwriting and great shows.”
