Anthony Green’s Avalon Remix

As previously posted, Anthony Green has released a remix vinyl of his debut album Avalon. Actually, the entire album in itself was remixed by his good friend and Circa Survive bandmate, Colin Frangicetto. PhotoFinish Records is releasing it on vinyl as well as on a CD, but only in limited quantities. The CD, on the other hand, features a bonus track “Ripped Apart”, one that was not included in the original album. Furthermore, you will be able to download the entire album off the site immediately after your purchase.

Many have been skeptical about this release, thinking that the songs would not fit into an electronic kind of sound setting. However, upon listening to the album in its entirety, it is an understatement to say that it is beyond mind-blowing. I have to admit that I was initially uncomfortable with the idea that Green’s acoustic tone in his songs were being replaced by electronic drum beats. However, I should have never doubted Frangicetto’s genius work to begin with, because that’s exactly what this album is: pure, sheer amazing genius. Shame on me for even remotely thinking otherwise.
