ES: Is there any significance to the name of your band?
AVP: To be honest, not really, tarcy thought it stood out the most.
ES: How was the band formed?
AVP: It started when tarcy posted a myspace bulletin about wanting to start an acoustic project after his last band had fizzled. Craig later responded to the bulletin and went in to the studio and decided to make it a full band project. Later, joe, jason, and joe k were added and its been a party ever since.
ES: What were your initial reactions to being signed by Fearless Records?
AVP: It was honestly the most exciting times of our lives, we couldn’t ask for a better label, they are the most family oriented people in the industry that we know and we wouldn’t have things any other way.
ES:How does it feel having your debut EP released, not long after your formation as a band, by such a large label?
AVP:Ridiculous, we still can’t fathom that something that we started just a year ago is now in stores like best buy or fye. These are the stores that we used to go and buy our favorite bands cds, and now we share the same shelves with them. Everything has happened so fast and we feel so lucky to everything that we have accomplished.
ES: When did it strike you guys that Artist Vs Poet was going somewhere?
AVP: Honestly, as soon as we started it. From the very beginning when it was just tarcy and I (craig) writing the music, we knew that we had something good, and it only motivated us to take this as far as we possibly could, especially after the break ups of our previous bands.
ES:How influential was MySpace in your success as a band?
AVP: YES, just look at the bio, its how this band was formed, and we’ve managed to really connnect with a big audience of kids through it.
ES:Have you guys accomplished much more than you ever would have dreamt of in the last year?
AVP: OH YA, we never could have imagined that we could have been signed to such an amazing label in less than a year. Its been a crazy fast ride but we wouldn’t trade any bit of it for anything.
ES: Where does Artist Vs Poet see themselves in 2 years?
AVP: Touring the WORLD, writing the best music we possibly can and giving kids something that they can sing along to, and something that we enjoy just as much.
ES: Best memory while on tour?
AVP: On this tour, los gatos california, we had never heard of this place but the kids we’re incredible. It was a realization that what we’re doing is something real, when we can drive to a city we’ve never heard of, and meet kids we’ve never met, and watch them sing along to our music.
ES: Worst memory while touring?
AVP: Honestly, we’ve had very few bad memories, touring is what we want to do, and we’re living our dream. There are ruts here and there that we fall into, but at the end of the day, this is what we want to do, and the rewards far exceed any of the downfalls.
ES: Cleanest band to tour with?
AVP: Racing kites, those dudes always smell good 
, not in a gay way though haha.
ES: Who are your main influences when writing and seeking inspiration?
AVP: Starting line, 3rd eye blind, weezer, and the people that have and affect our lives.
ES: If you had the chance to tour with any band, new or old, who would it be?
AVP: The starting line, Weezer, 3rd eye blind.
ES: What do you want potential fans to know about you that they wouldnt find out from any other source?
AVP: Honestly, we believe in bands that forget their fans, and we will always be there talking to anyone who wants to talk to us. That we treat anyone who comes to us as a friend, and that we would never want anyone to miss an opportunity to get to know us better and chit chat.

ES: Of all the bands in the world, why should fans check you out?
AVP: Because we are the most genuine band you will meet, we put everything into our music, we are 5 different personalities but we honestly care, and will hang out and talk with you after the other bands have left, and we’ll remember you months later when we come back and see your pretty faces again
