Good Old War – Only Way To Be Alone Cd Review
Good Old War’s debut album, Only Way To Be Alone, is a fantastic effort by the recently formed group. Combining folk, indie, and country elements, Good Old War does not disappoint. Strong harmonies, catchy hooks, and great lyrics supplied by members Keith Goodwin, Daniel Schwartz, and Tim Arnold keep the listener enthralled throughout the 12 track disc. The Philly band has a driving sound that you will not hear from any other band in today’s scene. Fresh, honest, and chillin’ tunes are what this album is comprised of. From quick tempos to heartfelt ballads, Only Way To Be Alone covers a lot of ground and gives the listener lots of great songs to look forward to. A Guest appearance by Anthony Green (Circa Survive) on the track “Weak Man” proves to be an awesome collaboration between the artists, and with lyrics like “Let the music breathe upon my face every step of the way”, it’s a sign that you should definitely check out this up-and coming-band!
Fans of Anthony Green, The Early November, good ol’ indie pop or just plain good music will definitely find peace with Good Old War.
The album is released on Sargent House and is available now for purchase in Indie Stores or online.
