From the open air pub, stirred a diverse number of students. Some freshman, some seniors however, many shared the same idea of relaxing and having a beer and some food while enjoying the summer’s breeze. This is where a local band named Shaking Judy took to the stage and played some music to keep the partying in full swing.  The band, consisting of Rob Hutcheson, Mike Shetzer, Jer Turowetz and Joe Allen played a solid set. The band is not the most recognized band on the planet but they have a very melodic sound. A mixture of alternative, rock and experimental the band creates an original sound with each song. One of their featured song “On the Run” (also a video played on muchmusic) was played on the radiowaves for such stations as “the buzz, mix 96 and mohawk radio”. This helped the band progress and gain a new wave of fans. I got to meet the band at a charity party last spring and they were an amazing group of guys that just wanted to have some fun. I even got one of their ep’s signed by the band (despite the fact one wanted to sign my nipple) and had a good time listening to a band that I had never heard before.

For anyone interested in a new sound from a solid Montreal based band be sure to check out Shaking Judy. I am sure you will be seeing them around in some new shows around the Montreal area. As well, I’ll leave you with a couple of links to hear them out and see for yourself what’s so addicting about them.
