Sky Eats Airplane will release a 3-song EP, The Sound Of Symmetry, on April 13th. Recorded with up-and-coming producer Taylor Larson at his studio in Bethesda, Maryland, the band intends to let the EP serve as a teaser of a forthcoming full-length, to be recorded this fall. With a title like At Echo Lake, the fifth album from New York’s Woods intimates a modern rock aesthetic fully informed by historical manifestations of teenage along with a concomitant feel for the specifics of time and place. Piebald was perhaps one of the most beloved bands in the hardcore/ indie rock crossover genre. Starting out in 1994, the band released a ton of songs throughout their decorated career. Some of these songs are hard to find because most of the releases they appeared on are out of print now. Well, not anymore. Alt-punk pioneers Alkaline Trio will be auctioning an electric guitar used in recording their latest album, to raise money for the defense fund of Damien Echols (who is on death row), Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley, Jr., who were convicted of murdering three eight-year-old boys in 1994.
The special Japanese manufactured guitar is a black 2009 Fender HH Jaguar with a Gibson ‘57 Humbucker in the bridge used on most of the recording of THIS ADDICTION and is featured in the photos within the album and has been used (until now) at almost every show thus far on Alkaline Trio’s THIS ADDICTION tour.
