The Summer Set, starting October 19th, are going to be embarking on their 4th tour of 2010. This tour with be The Summer Set’s first headlining, being joined by the likes of Stereo Skyline, fellow Arizonian Austin Gibbs, School Boy Humor and Mod Sun, the tour will start in Austin, TX at Emo’s. STRIKE ANYWHERE ANNOUNCES SOUTHERN AND EAST COAST SHOWS

Richmond, VA’s Strike Anywhere will be hitting up spots in the South and East Coast this October and November.  Starting October 25th in Washington, DC, the band will be playing a string of dates with the Flatliners, A Wilhelm Scream, No Friends and others, including stops at Gainesville’s The Fest 9 and Austin’s Fun Fun Fun Fest.  Strike Anywhere’s Thomas Barnett said, “The final run of our Iron Front year – these special shows with rare set lists, digging back to the roots – our hometown punk scenes and origin cities in the South East.  This tour is close to our hearts and we will definitely have a few surprises along the way.” (more…)

Hailing straight from the club district of Toronto ON, Abandon All Ships has been quickly winning fans over with a unique mix of hardcore, euro and dance. The band spent 2009 heavily touring North America on the release of its self titled/self released debut EP. With a new record on deck this fall, and a tour schedule that won’t let up, 2010 is looking like a big year for Abandon All Ships. Conditions, an alternative band who rocked out this Summer on Warped Tour, is set to release their album Flourescent Youth on Good Fight Music records this September 14th. This Virginia native band received rave reviews from people such as Jersey (formerly Hey Monday) promises that this band will not disappoint, especially for the notoriously dull times of Fall and a new school year. Chiodos will head out on a full U.S. and Canada tour, alongside Atreyu, blessthefall, Architects (UK), and Endless Hallway, on the Congregation Of The Damned tour.  Chiodos’ upcoming release, Illuminaudio, will be available on October 5th and will feature the band’s two newest members, vocalist Brandon Bolmer (formerly of Yesterday’s Rising) and drummer Tanner Wayne (formerly of Underminded and Scary Kids Scaring Kids).

YANN TIERSEN SIGNS TO ANTI-RECORDS

Celebrated composer and multi instrumentalist Yann Tiersen has just signed to Anti-Records. Tiersen is a renowned and startlingly unique artist whose early albums merged cutting edge classical with flourishes of folk with the bristly energy of post punk. And while these works attracted a dedicated fan base, it was his soundtrack to the beloved indie film “Amelie” which introduced Tiersen to a far wider audience. (more…)
